Yes, I know it’s still August (in other words, Winter) but lately the light seems to have changed, somehow. And it’s noteworthy just how much brighter it’s been inside my head, as though it’s somehow a reflection of the light around me.
This morning, I got myself out of the apartment – not too early, mind, it was well after sunrise, as you may notice from the long shadows in some of the shots – and into the Royal Botanic Garden where I got lost among the ferns, then admired the bamboo in the Oriental Garden, all the while pondering at the speed with which this year seems to be flying by. Besides that, I also allowed myself to bask in the feeling of relief that Winter is almost over. I know Sydney’s winters are mild in comparison to those of many other places, but it never fails to feel like a struggle to me. I guess I’m just not made for temperatures below the mid-20Cs.
Today was such a lovely day that I stayed outdoors for ages; my Fitbit tells me that I walked 16 kilometres. My dodgy left ankle is grumbling a little now, but I feel brand new, fresh green and alive!
